Lapshin Vladimir Georgievich

CITY: rep. Tatarstan, Buinsk DATE OF BIRTH: 01/01/1916 DATE OF DEATH: 09/22/1942 HISTORY: My grandfather, Vladimir Georgievich Lapshin was born in 1916 in the Republic of Tatarstan, the city of Buinsk. He studied at the Kazan Military Aviation School and in 1940, after graduation, he was awarded the rank of lieutenant of the Air Force of the Red Army. He continued his service in the Leningrad Region, where his wife later came. Before the start of the war, his family was evacuated to the city of Kanash. In my grandmother's home archive, I found a photograph, on the back of which, by the hand of my grandfather, it was written: "Before the Patriotic War of 1941. Fascism will be defeated." In May 1942, he was sent to an aircraft factory in the city of Kazan to receive a new Pe-2 aircraft. The route passed through the Kanash station, where his wife and nine-month-old daughter lived. This was their last meeting. The following news came from the Trans-Baikal Military District, (railway named after Molotov, station Borzya 100, PO Box 476 Letter B). In his letter, lieutenant of the assault link Vladimir Lapshin said that now they were being sent to the south. As it turned out later, it was the Stalingrad front. On September 21, 1942, in one of the battles in the skies over Stalingrad, after completing a combat mission, the plane was damaged and caught fire. The crew managed to land the burning plane on their territory. On September 22, 1942, in a field hospital, at the age of 26, Air Force Lieutenant Vladimir Georgievich Lapshin died of II-III degree burns. In the notice to his mother it was written: he was burned and died of burns, September 22, 1942 in the field mobile evacuation hospital No. 4187 buried in the town Leninsk, Volgograd region. There is information that Lapshin Vladimir Georgievich, fought in the 62nd Army, 765th Rifle Regiment, with the rank of lieutenant of the assault link. The memory of our loved one, who gave us a peaceful sky, lives with us.
