Levtsov Boris Kondratyevich

CITY: Deryabka village, Tokayevsky district, Voronezh region DATE OF BIRTH: 01/21/1924 DATE OF DEATH: 02/04/1983 HISTORY: Title: Red Army soldier. Type of troops: - ground forces, - air force (except naval aviation), - coastal service, - troops of the NKVD, - border troops. Division: 72nd Guards Rifle Krasnograd Red Banner Division. I, Meshalkin Dmitry Sergeevich, a student of the 4th grade of the Municipal Budgetary General Education Institution "Sholokhov gymnasium, village Veshenskaya", I want to tell you about my great-grandfather, Levtsov Boris Kondratievich, born in 1924. He was a participant in the Great Patriotic War. He was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army in August 1942 as a line signalman. The great-grandfather's responsibilities included laying telephone lines and restoring damaged communications on the front line. It was a very difficult, dangerous and responsible mission. Boris Kondratyevich fought on the Kursk Bulge during the liquidation of the German offensive in the summer of 1943. As part of the Steppe Front, he acted in the Belgorod-Kharkov operation in August 1943, as a result of which, with his participation, the city of Kharkiv was liberated. In early September 1943 he took an active part in the crossing of the Dnieper River. According to the stories that have come down to me, these were very eerie and intense battles. While crossing the Dnieper, a large number of our soldiers perished, the water turned brown. It was scary to be in the thick of those events, but this feeling came later, and at that moment all thoughts were occupied with giving the enemy a worthy rebuff. First of all, uninterrupted communication had to function. This is exactly what Boris Kondratyevich provided. Ultimately, the operation was completed successfully. My great-grandfather and his division as part of the 7th Guards Army under the command of Colonel-General M.S. Shumilov. went first to the state border, made a successful crossing of the Carpathians. His front lines passed through Moldova, Romania. With his participation were taken on February 13, 1945, Budapest, on April 4, 1945, Bratislava. The news of the victory over the Nazis came to my great-grandfather when he was in Czechoslovakia. In the early morning of May 8, 1945, heavy non-stop shooting and some kind of noise were heard. Together with their comrades, they ran out of hiding to find out what was happening. The spring dawn was illuminated with bright flashes of guns and shouts of glee from the soldiers: “Hurray! Hurray! Victory!!!" There was no need to explain anything else, everything was clear as it is! What we have been going for four long years has finally come true! We won! My great-grandfather carried the memories of these happy moments throughout his life. For military merits in the war, Boris Kondratyevich, by order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Generalissimo I.V. Stalin, was given a Gratitude. He was awarded: - two medals “For Courage” in February and September 1944, - a medal “For Victory over Germany” on May 9, 1945, - a medal “For the Liberation of Prague”. I am very proud of my great-grandfather Boris Kondratyevich Levtsov. It is a pity that I was not lucky enough to see him. But the exploits of our great-grandfathers will live forever!
