Petr Grigoryevich Gordeev was born on the 18th of June, 1916, in the village of Meteli in the Duvansky district of the Bashkir ASSR. As fate would have it, Petr Grigoryevich lost his mother early. At the age of 11 he went to live with his older brother in Kazan. There he was placed as a pupil in a military unit the headquarters of which was located in the Kazan Kremlin. So from a young age the fate linked him with the army. Before the war after serving in the army Petr Grigoryevich graduated from the Podolsk technological college. He worked at one of the enterprises of the city of Podolsk. He was called up to the front in June 1942. As part of the 55th separate rifle brigade of the Leningrad front, he was appointed commander of a reconnaissance platoon. Defending the besieged Leningrad, he showed courage and valor. He was awarded the order of the Red Star. In the award list the description of a personal feat says: “... at a critical moment, when the enemy got close to our trenches, comrade Gordeev saw the danger of one of the flanks of our defense, quickly rushed with a platoon to a dangerous place and repulsed the enemy's attack.” Among the military awards of P.G.Gordeev is the medal "For the defense of Leningrad". He finished the war in 1945 with the rank of a captain. The last combat missions were the clearance of peaceful objects in the Baltic States. He returned to Serpukhov where his beloved wife Gordeeva Klavdia Matveevna was waiting for him. In 1947 the eldest son Eugene was born, and in 1958 the youngest son Yuri. After the war Pyotr Grigoryevich graduated from the Higher Party school. In different years he worked in the City Committee of the Komsomol of Serpukhov, at the Solts plant, the “Condenser” plant. His last job was at the Gazprom USSR - Gas trunk pipeline Department (Serpukhov), where he held the position of chief engineer-dispatcher. He enjoyed a well-deserved reputation among employees, was a competent specialist and was repeatedly elected secretary of the party organization. His work friends called him “the commissioner." Petr Grigoryevich was a man of broad erudition, he lectured at the “Znanie” (knowledge) society, was an avid chess player and a Spartak fan. Pyotr Grigoryevich Gordeev is a war hero and a simple good man.
