Golikov Petr Grigorievich.
Golikov Peter Grigoryevich was born on the 19th of October, 1904, in the village of Kiselev of the Krasnogvardeysky district, the Rostov region. Bbefore the war he worked as the chairman of the Kiselevsky village council. My grandfather was called up to the front in 1941 by the Krasnogvardeysky regional military commissariat. At home he left his wife Golikova Maria Trofimovna and four sons, Ilya born in 1928, Ivan born in 1930, Vladimir born in 1934 and Viktor born in 1938. At the beginning of the war my grandfather, with the rank of a senior lieutenant, fought as a party organizer of the 1st rifle battalion of the 262nd rifle regiment of the 184th Dukhovshchinsky rifle division. During the war my grandfather fought on the Central, South-Western, Voronezh front, Kalinin front, Baltic front, Western front, Belarusian front. My grandfather finished the war with the rank of a captain as deputy commander of the 3rd rifle battalion in the political unit of the 262nd of the Neman rifle regiment of the Dukhovshchinsky Red Banner division in East Prussia. During the war my grandfather was wounded and shell-shocked several times. In September 1941 grandfather was shell-shocked in the fighting on the Central front, grandfather received the first serious injury on the 19th of September, 1942, during the fighting on the South-Western front, then there was a slight wound in February 1942. On the Voronezh front, slightly wounded in March 1944 on the Belorussian front. For his courage and heroism my grandfather was awarded four orders and the medal "For Bravery". The extract from the order of awarding Golikov Petr Grigoryevich: “From the 14th till the 17th September, 1943, when breaking through the enemy's defenses in the area of the village of Ukolovo and Shevyaki of the Dukhovshchinsky district of the Smolensk region, the situation of the battle required his personal participation. He picked up the men and led them into the attack. As a result the enemy was knocked out of the occupied lines. In this battle he personally destroyed 7 enemy soldiers, captured 1 enemy machine gun. The extract from the order of awarding Golikov Petr Grigoryevich: “During the fighting to encircle and destroy the enemy group near the village of Tsarkovschinyu of the Bogushevsky district of the Smolensk region on the 27th of June, 1944, the lieutenant organized party and political work by his personal example and skill, mobilized communists and Komsomol members to successfully complete the combat order, as a result of which the task was successfully completed by the battalion units. He is worthy of the governmental award - the medal “For courage”. The extract from the order of awarding Golikov Petr Grigoryevich: “During the fighting on the approaches to the state border he carried out a lot of party and political work among the fighters. When breaking through the defense in the Sloboda-Liehnaitsve area on the 15th of August, 1944, the battalion broke through the enemy's defenses with a high offensive rush and, despite fierce counterattacks by enemy tanks and infantry, forced them to retreat, leaving more than 200 corpses of soldiers, 10 tanks, a battery of guns, a battery of mortars, 2 armored personnel carriers and other trophies on the battlefield. For his selfless work among the soldiers and the success achieved as a result he deserves to be awarded the order of the Patriotic War of the second degree. The extract from the order of awarding Golikov Petr Grigoryevich: “Captain Golikov skillfully organized party and political work during the preparation period before the attacks. He mobilized personnel to perform a combat mission. The communists showed mass heroism in the battles. Golikov was always in battle formations, when the rifle company lay down, he personally raised the company and led it into battle to storm the bunker, the company successfully completed its combat task. In battles he continuously organized the growth of party ranks. For skilful organization of party and political work in battle, for personal bravery and courage in battle, he is worthy of the government award of the order of the Patriotic War of the first degree. The extract from the order of awarding Golikov Petr Grigoryevich: “In the battles during the breakthrough of the strongly fortified German defenses in East Prussia, comrade Golikov showed courage and bravery. Since the 13th of January, 1945, he continuously participated in offensive battles. During the battles for the capture of the village of Uzdechek he was directly in the battle lines and encouraged the soldiers to perform a combat task by personal example. When he came to the battle lines, he called on everyone to follow him and all the fighters, as one, followed him to the attack. As a result of this attack, more than 60 German soldiers and officers were killed, more than 70 rifles, 4 machine guns, hundreds of grenades and a lot of ammunition were captured as a trophy. On the 17th of January, 1945, breaking into the first trench of the Germans with three red army comrades Golikov killed 15 German soldiers and an officer. For skilful conduct of party and political work in battle and for fierce bravery, captain Golikov is worthy of the government award of the order of the Red Banner. In 1947 he and his wife had a fifth son, Gennady. In 1951 Golikov Petr Grigoryevich was appointed chairman of the Sokolovo-Kundryuchensky village council and moved with his family to the village of Sokolovo-Kundryuchensky. My grandfather served as chairman of the village council until his retirement. We grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren remember our grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather and are proud of him.
