Division: 103rd Infantry Division (1st Formation). On June 24, 1941, the Blagodarny Regional military Commissariat of the Stavropol Territory, his father was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and, as part of the 688 Specialist subunit of the 103rd Infantry Division, was sent to the Western Front. During the battles for Yelnya, my father was wounded in his right leg and was sent to hospital No. 2040. According to his father, the battles for Yelnya were the most terrible time of the entire war. In February 1942, my father was enrolled in the 903 specialist subunit of the 242 rifle division of the 2nd formation, which, according to the Directive of the Supreme Command Headquarters No. 170220 dated 04/05/1942, was included in the reserve of the Supreme Command and sent to Stalingrad, but in May 1942 it entered composition of the 38th Army and took part in the Kharkov operation, near the city of Volchansk. In August 1942, his father was enrolled in the 215th separate road construction battalion, and he took part in the Battle of Stalingrad. In August 1943, his father was enrolled in 398 Specialist Subunit 118 Rifle division, which was part of the 28 Army of the Southern Front, and he took part in the Miusskaya and Melitopol operations. On October 1, 1943, my father was wounded in the arm and was included in the lists of personnel losses as killed in the area of Zeleny Lug. October-November 1943 was in hospital No. 2343. The 118th Infantry Division became known as the 118th Melitopol Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Infantry Division. In March 1944, my father was again enlisted in the 215th ODSB, which on October 6, 1944 was included in the 14th Army of the Karelian Front, and took part in the Petsamo-Kirkenes offensive operation. I am not aware of my father's participation in hostilities in Manchuria, nevertheless, he received a commendation from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and was awarded the medal "For Victory over Japan." In the documents of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, he found the fact that his father was awarded the medal "For Courage" by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 223/127 of 06.11.1947, but until his death, his father did not know about this award. I received it in 2015.
