Immediately, he and a few other classmates went to the city military registration and enlistment office to sign up as volunteers for the front, but the boys who had just graduated from the tenth year were refused, recommending to come up in a year. For almost a year, Misha Lazarev worked at the Guryev Metallurgical Plant, replacing his father, who had gone to the front by that time. And in 1942, in the direction of the military registration and enlistment office, he went to study at the Tomsk Artillery School, which he graduated in 1943. He began his service in the active army as the commander of a platoon of "forty-fives" of the 465th regiment of the 167th rifle division on the Voronezh front. In 1943, as part of the rifle division, Mikhail Lazarev participated in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Star, participated in the liberation of Kiev, Drohobych, Uzhgorod, crossed the Dnieper. He is a direct participant in the Korsun-Shevchenko operation. Lazarev M.G. took part in the liberation of Poland. Mikhail Guryevich met the victory in Czechoslovakia as commander of an artillery battery. For the heroism shown in battles with the fascist invaders Lazarev M.G. was awarded five military orders: two Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Patriotic War of I and II degrees, the medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945." After the war, until 1948, he took part in the routing of Ukrainian nationalist gangs. In 1950 Lazarev M.G. Graduated from Novosibirsk Law School, in 1958 - Moscow Law Institute. In 1951 he was elected a people's judge of the Anzhero-Sudzhensky city court of the Kemerovo region. Lazarev Mikhail Guryevich worked in the Anzhero-Sudzhensk city court for over 40 years, and of these 30 years he was elected chairman of the Anzhero-Sudzhensk city court. Until now, Anzhero-Sudzhensk remembers with kind words the former judge Mikhail Guryevich Lazarev for his humanity and justice. Mikhail Guryevich not only considered criminal and civil cases, but was also actively involved in educational work - evenings of questions and answers at enterprises, lecturing in labor collectives, visiting court sessions. For high performance in March 1967, Mikhail Guryevich, the first in Siberia, was awarded the honorary title "Honored Lawyer of the RSFSR."
