Gorelov Joseph Semenovich

My great-grandfather Iosif Semenovich Gorelov was born on 09/21/1916 in the village Malo-Bobrovo, Dmitrovsky District, Kursk Region, in a peasant family. In 1933 he graduated from the 7th grade and went to work in the collective farm "Wings of the Soviets". From 1937 to 1940 he was in the Kharkiv military district (aviation driver of the 24th air brigade). In 1939 he joined the Komsomol. From 1940 to 1942 - commander of the militarized guard section of the Moscow-Volga canal. 1942 - 1943 – intelligence officer of the 684th artillery regiment of the 233rd rifle division of the Moscow military district, Don Front. In November 1943, the party committee of the 233rd Kremenchug rifle division received I.S. Gorelov to the party. 1943-1947 – intelligence officer 684 artillery regiment of the second steppe Ukrainian front. In 1947 he returned to his native village and continued his labor activity on the collective farm "Wings of the Soviets". Gorelov I.S. gratitude was announced from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Marshal of the Soviet Union, Comrade Stalin, for excellent military operations in the implementation of a breakthrough and participation in the battles for Zvenigorodka, Shpola, Smila, Boguslav and Kanev.
