medical personnel Unit: 107th Infantry Kremenets Order of Suvorov Division .My mother was orphaned at the age of seven when her father died. The stepmother moved from Omsk to Frunze, and there she gave her mother to a children's receiver, which later became the famous orphanage named after I. Krupskaya. The years that my mother lived in the orphanage were the best in her childhood life. Mom studied very well, participated in amateur performances. The orphanage had professional teachers who taught children music, ballet, and had its own theater studio. In addition, girls were taught to sew, cook, boys mastered carpentry, plumbing. After school, my mother entered the Tashkent Medical Institute at the medical faculty. Of course, the orphanage helped her with money and clothes. For the summer she was registered as a junior teacher, and during the school year she worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Pharmacology. But the war began and everything changed. The scholarships were canceled and they had to rely only on the salary of a laboratory assistant. We lived from hand to mouth and studied without days off and vacations. In August 1942, my mother graduated from college and was drafted into the army. Although the institute left her in graduate school, she is a Komsomol member, did not consider it possible to be in the rear when the war was going on. Throughout the war, my mother passed with her 247 medical battalion of the 107th Infantry Division, 69th Army. Throughout the war she treated the wounded under shelling and bombs. From Voronezh to Prague, my mother walked, exactly passed, they took only the wounded and equipment, together with the doctors and sisters of 247 medical battalions. Of all her awards, and she was awarded orders and medals in peacetime, the most appreciated was the Medal For Courage, which was personally presented to her by the division commander Bezhko. She graduated from the war with the rank of captain of the medical service. After the war, mom and dad, Karikh Anisim Petrovich, political commander of the 522 joint venture of the 107th Infantry Division, first served in Germany and Poland, and then were sent to Kharkov at the dad's place of service. Mom worked in her specialty, first as a doctor in a polyclinic, then as a deputy chief physician of the 25th Clinical Hospital. She was repeatedly elected as a deputy of the district and city councils. She was awarded with jubilee medals and the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1971. Excellence in Public Health of the USSR.
