My grandfather Fyodor Suldyaykin was born on February 12, 1918 in the village of Sabayevo in Kochkurovsky district of the Republic of Mordovia. He finshed the 2nd form of the Sabaev school. He started working early. He handled horses well. In horse riding, he was not inferior even to adults. His parents valued him very much for his independence. After the older brothers created their own families, Fyodor became the main support for his parents on the farm. In 1936, at the age of 18, he got married. His wife was Maria Romanovna. They raised eight children. In November 1939, Fyodor Sergeevich was called up for active military service. He began his service in the 6th Artillery Regiment. He received a military specialty as an artilleryman of 76-mm, 82-mm guns of 122-mm and 152-mm howitzers. In 1939-1940, he participated in the Finnish Military Company. From June 23, 1941 to May 9, 1945, he participated in fights of the Great Patriotic war as part of the South-Western, Voronezh and 1st Ukrainian Fronts. Until August 1942, the combat path of gunner F. S. Suldyaykin took place in the 6th Artillery Regiment as a rider. He was a participant in the battle of Kursk. August 1, 1942, in the area of C. Ekaterinovka, Rostov region in battle, when enemy aircraft bombed the positions of the 6th regiment, his gun was destroyed, and he was seriously wounded by a bomb fragment. In the report of the command about the loss of personnel, he was among the dead. Home, his relatives were mistakenly sent a "funeral". After being wounded, he was treated in a hospital in the Caucasus. When the treatment was coming to an end, the hospital was bombed by German aircrafts. All those who remained alive and could move independently were sent home to be treated. After a short treatment at home, Fyodor Sergeyevich was again sent to the front. He continued his service as a member of the 136th Artillery Regiment as a commander of the 76-mm gun. From March 1943, he fought in the 12th Guards Shepetovskaya Red Banner Tank Brigade of the order of Suvorov and Kutuzovas as a gunner. In 1944, he took part in the Lviv-Sandomierz operation. He was wounded again. In 1945, he participated in the Vistula-Oder military operation. After the end of the war and until his discharge from the reserve, he served in the 131 Artillery Regiment as a gun commander. Demobilized in June 1946 with the rank of guard Sergeant. He has military awards: the Order of the Red Star, medals "For military merit", "For the Victory over Germany", "For the Liberation of Prague", several commemorative medals. After transfer to the reserve Soldatkin F. S. worked on the farm. Before merging the villages of Murani and Krasnaya Zorka Vidman into one collective farm, he worked for some time as the Chairman of the collective farm in Krasnaya Zorka. Then he worked as a collective farm foreman for about 15 years. He worked as a shepherd for many years. Before retirement, he worked as a watchman. He played balalaika very well. In the company of family and friends, he liked to sing his favorite songs "Ogonyok" and "Fire Beats in a small stove". He died on February 1, 1981, at the age of 63. In the memory of his fellow villagers, he remained a respected, exceptionally decent person. Eternal memory to him.
