Taurin Timofey Alekseevich

Taurin Timofey Alekseevich Born in 1901. Drafted in Ruzaevsky RVC. Red army soldier-shooter of the 45th division of the ski brigade. Was lost in a battle near village Glinino of Slobodsky district of Smolensk region. Buried: Ruzaevsky district, village Arch-Golitsino, civil cemetery. For 70 long years, the family of Timofey Alekseyevich Taurin from the Ruzaevsky district did not know anything about the his fate. All these years, he was considered to be missing, as they were informed in 1943. Timofey's wife, Ekaterina Taurina, did not believe until her death that her husband was missing without leaving any news. She kept hoping that one day the door would open and her beloved husband, the father of her four children, would enter the house. In November 2012, the search team of Demidovsky district of Smolensk region, conducting search operations on the site of the abandoned village of Glinino, found the remains of two Red army soldiers lying almost on the surface of the earth-at a depth of only 10 centimeters. The soldiers lay so close to each other that it was impossible to separate them . Under one of the soldiers, search engines found a death medallion, which was poorly preserved, but still had readable inscriptions. Having deciphered them, search engines found out that the remains of one of the soldiers belong to a Red army soldier from Mordovia, a native of the village of Zinovka (now it doesn’t exist) Ruzaevsky district Timofey Alekseevich Taurin, born in 1901. Smolensk search engines contacted colleagues from Mordovia. According to the memorial archive database, the Red army soldier Taurin served in the 2nd Separate Army Rifle Battalion of the 4th shock Army of the Kalinin front. He went missing on July 28, 1942 in a battle, liberating the village of Glinino in the Smolensk region. Members of the archive search group "Armor" found the soldier's relatives. It turned out that his three daughters have been still alive, two of them continued living in their native area, there have been 7 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the soldier's great-great-grandchildren have already been born. No much information about Timothy's life has been preserved to this day. It is known that he was born in the village of Zimovka of Ruzaevskiy district in a large family that had seven children. His parents worked all their lives on the land, Timofey himself worked as a stable boy. He was illiterate. He was called to the front in 1942. Before being sent to war, he was allowed to go home for a few hours to see his wife, three daughters, and one-year-old son Viktor. On the same last day that he spent with his family, the only photo that has survived to this day was taken, in which he is sitting surrounded by his wife, sister and children. On July 15, 2013, the remains of a Soviet soldier Timofey Alekseyevich Taurin, who went missing 70 years ago, were buried in the village of Arkh-Golitsyno in the Ruzaevsky district.
