Branch of troops: the USSR Navy and the Naval Forces of the NKVD Border Troops
Telitsyn Mikhey Yakovlevich was born on August 14, 1919 in the village of Olenitsa, Tersk district, Murmansk region. He began his independent labor activity in December 1935 as an apprentice accountant, and then as an accountant. From February to December 1938 he attended accounting courses in Rostov-on-Don, after which he worked as an accountant at the Chkalov kolkhoz in the village of Sosnovka until he was drafted into the Navy, i.e. until November 1939.
From December 7, 1939 to February 1940, he passed combat training in the training company of the Northern Fleet in Vaenga. From March 1940 to August 1942 he served in the 7th department of the Northern Fleet headquarters as a clerk. From August to December 1942 he was in a training company awaiting admission to encryption work.
From January to October 1943 he was in 1St Artillery Division, but already as a communications specialist. From April to July 1945 he was at the headquarters of the Kola Naval Defense Region, from where at the end of July 1945 he was transferred to the Emergency and Rescue Department of the Northern Fleet in the village of Arovyanye. Mikhey Yakovlevich faced the war at the headquarters of the fleet, where he served as a clerk. He immediately filed a report on his transfer to the ship. They refused. People were needed everywhere. There were no secondary objects then. Everyone worked to win. But the desire to get on the ship and participate in military campaigns did not disappear. He filed report after report. Finally, he was assigned to a submarine brigade.
Mikhey Yakovlevich arrived at his new duty station at a sad time. Then four boats did not return from the campaign at once. All went gloomy and angry. And doubts tormented the warrior: how he would endure the first campaign, whether he would not let his comrades down. After all, they are already battle-hardened, but he served in the artillery and has never been in battle. And here is the first trip. Immediately caught in a ten-point storm. Even seasoned sailors could hardly bear it. But Mikhey Yakovlevich did not succumb to weakness, courageously endured difficulties.
Telitsyn visited eight campaigns. He especially remembered one. He then served on the M-200 submarine. On the high seas, their boat met an enemy caravan. Three transports of 5-6 thousand tons of displacement were guarded by 27 ships. The boat went on the attack, although the submariners knew a priori that the battle would be unequal. They fired a volley with two torpedoes and began to maneuver. There were explosions and something unimaginable began. The escort ships unleashed their forces on the daring boat. The submarine commander wanted, as usual, to break through and hide in the open sea. But that was not the case: the enemy blocked the way. Bombs fell on the boat. The sailors counted more than two hundred explosions. The light went out, the gyrocompass was out of order.
Then the commander undertook a new maneuver. The boat turned quietly and went to the shore. The gaps began to disappear. It never occurred to the enemies to look for a boat under the shore. Soon the submariners reported to the headquarters about the sinking of the enemy transport and received permission to return to the base. But there were still two torpedoes on board. I did not want to return with them, and the commander decided to stay in position for another two days. The boat circled stubbornly in its square, but the enemy did not appear. Mikhey Yakovlevich received two Orders of the Red Star and seven medals for his military work.
After the war, Severomorets became a career soldier. In January 1955 he was demobilized. After the war Mikhey Yakovlevich took an active part in the military-patriotic education of young people, often spoke to the soldiers of the North Sea and schoolchildren. Mikhay Yakovlevich died on the Nizhny Novgorod land in the city of chemists Dzerzhinsk at the age of 72, he was buried there, but the memory of him will be in the hearts of his loved ones and relatives.
