Rank: Senior Sergeant. He was wounded three times: in the battle near Smolensk (summer 1941), during the liberation of the village of Olkhovatki in the Voronezh region (September 1942), in the battles near the town of Stary Oskol (February 1, 1943) Twice he was undergoing treatment at GLR No. 1135 (Bobrov, Voronezh region) and in evacuation hospital No. 1706 (Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). In 1943, after a severe injury, he was demobilized for health reasons. In 1985, for the courage, stamina and courage shown in the fight against the German fascist invaders, and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, Ivan Konstantinovich Kotovsky was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree.
