Mikhail Pushkin

Kalinin Region, Rzhevsky District, village of Galushkina_x000D_ 02.05.1913 - 14.11.1976_x000D_ My father - Mikhail Pushkin was born in 1913, a native of the Rzhevsky District, village of Golyshkino, is a participant of the Great Patriotic War._x000D_ My father and mother Pushkin (Shitikova) Anna got married in 1938, and they had my older sister Svetlana._x000D_ My father was a soldier (96th Aviation Regiment, aircraft mechanic, Sergeant Major). He took part in the Finnish company from January 1939 to March 1939._x000D_ Before the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, my father and his family were sent to Belarus. That is where the war caught them._x000D_ My father left home at 4 am on June 22, 1941 and separated from his family for four years. My mother and my sister, like all servicemen’s families, were gathered at 10 am, put on trucks and taken away. But this did not last long, until the first bombing. The trucks were smashed, thanks God they were still alive, and then they got as far as they could. My mother was able to reach Rzhev only by the end of June. In Vyazma, she came under heavy bombardment and almost lost my sister. Arriving in Rzhevsky District the village of Golyshkino to her husband's parents, then could not evacuate futher as the wife of a serviceman, because she was pregnant and gave birth to a boy (lived only 4 months). And ended up in the occupation for long, terrible seventeen months. To her luck and the luck of grandparents, there were no traitors in the village, and no one betrayed to the Germans that her husband was a Red Army Commander. After all, in addition to my father, grandparents had two more sons and a grandson who were at war (Pushkins Fyodor, Peter and Vasily)._x000D_ The village of Golyshkino was liberated from the Germans on August 19, 1942 and next to the village, an air regiment was stationed. Workers in the canteen were needed there, and my mother began to bake bread for the soldiers._x000D_ My father was transferred to the 566th Solnechnogorsk Ground-attack Aviation Regiment with the rank of Sergeant and with this regiment he went through the entire war. He did not like to talk about the war._x000D_ Mikhail Pushkin participated in the defense of Moscow and was awarded the Medal for the Defense of Moscow. He was awarded the Medal for the Defense of Leningrad on December 22, 1942. He was awarded the Medal For Bravery in 1942. He was awarded two orders of the Red Star in 1944 and 1945. Gratitude was also expressed for participation in the battles for the capture of Tallinn, Narva, Kinigeberg and the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad. Only by awards, Orders and Red Army books, we can judge the difficult years of my father's war._x000D_ After the liberation of Rzhev in 1943, my father found out that his family was alive and living in the village of Golyshkino. He returned from the war only on December 24, 1945. Soon he got involved in hard work. It was necessary to restore the plant @80 in Rzhev ("Elektromekhanika")._x000D_ He worked there from 1946 to 1972. For good work, he was awarded the title the Plant Labor Veteran._x000D_ My brother Nikolay and I were born in our family._x000D_ In 1976, after a serious illness, my father died and then my mother. Eternal memory to them.
