Artamonov Alexander Stepanovich

DATE OF BIRTH: 01.01.1923 DATE OF DEATH: 01.01.1942 HISTORY: War touched my family ... My mother's brother, Artamonov Alexander Stepanovich, the second child in the family of my grandmother Artamonova Agrafena Nikolaevna and grandfather Artamonov Stepan Trofimovich, who lived in a small house in Glades of the Skopinsky district of the Ryazan region. Son Alexander was born in 1923, and my mother in 1940, on the very eve of the war. In 1941, Alexander turned 18 years old, he graduated from 8 classes and worked at the Skopino mine, so from the beginning of the war he had a reservation. And at home there were still 7 young brothers and sisters who had to grow up in the harsh years of the war. You can write a lot about the hard life of the Artamonov family during the war years, their fates were similar to all Russian families living in villages and villages. Hunger, hard work in the fields, in order to collect the largest possible harvest and send everything to the front to the soldiers. Everything for the front, everything for the victory! It was under this slogan that the villagers lived then. And the children, barely getting to their feet, set off with the adults to the fields: they collected spikelets, carried heavy bales of grass and straw, cooked potato peels, and escorted their older brothers and sisters to the front. And they expected news from them. Grandmother Grunya, so affectionately called her numerous grandchildren, went to the front two sons: Alexei and Alexander. The elder Alexey went through the whole war, returned all wounded and died in the village of Polyany in his mother's arms before the first anniversary of the Victory in 1946. Alexander was drafted on January 16, 1942 with the rank of private in the Zheltukhinsky District Military Commissariat of the Skopinsky District. He was 18 years old, it was the sixth month of the war. Sasha wrote only one letter from the road to the front line. And he disappeared ... For a long time, grandmother Agrafena Nikolaevna upholstered the thresholds of the recruiting office, but there was no news. And only in 1943 the news came that Private Artamonov was missing. The grandmother waited for her son for a long time, waited until his death. She told me, her granddaughter, fairy tales and stories from her life, she confessed that every night she shudders from the knocking and noise outside the window. And she still thinks that her beloved Sasha has returned from the war, and now she will embrace him and her heart will calm down. My grandmother died in 1975, in the year of the 30th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Last 2014, having found a photo of Alexander Artamonov in the family archive, we registered him on the Victory Parade website and went to the festive parade, carrying a portrait with the campaign logo in our hands. And this year we tried to find information about Alexander Artamonov in the search system "Memorial", which contains information about all participants in the Great Patriotic War. We managed to find a copy of the registration sheet, which states that Private Artamonov A.S. born in 1923, called up to the Zheltukhinsky Military Commissariat, who has a mother, Artamonova Agrafena Stepanovna, dropped out of the Red Army in July 1942 as "missing." We also found a list of the names of the Red Army soldiers buried in a mass grave in March 1943. There is only a surname, name and patronymic, and the title is private. There is no year of birth or other data. But for some reason it seems to us that it is he - our grandfather Alexander Artamonov, an unharmed fighter of the Red Army, who immediately fell into the heat of war, into the hellish cauldron of the Smolensk battle .. There, where the earth burned, watered with the blood of thousands of soldiers ... released on March 12, 1943. troops of the Western Front during the Rzhev-Vyazemskaya operation. It was during this period that the remains of the Red Army were buried. Burial address: Smolensk region; Vyazemsky district, Tumakovsky s / s, Byvalitsy village, (42 km from Vyazma), military cemetery No. 11 This mass grave contains the remains of 1,300 Red Army men who died during the liberation of this area. That's all so far that we know about our relative - Alexander Artamonov. But we do not give up hope of finding his grave and bringing a handful of earth to the grave of his mother Agrafena Nikolaevna Artamonova (Morgunova).
