Amosov Viktor Georgievich
CITY: Zlatoust DATE OF BIRTH: 01.01.1930 DATE OF DEATH: - HISTORY: Amosov Viktor Georgievich is my grandfather. He was born and raised in the city of Zlatoust. He met the war as an 11-year-old boy. After graduating from grade 4, he started working and helping his parents. He was an apprentice with a carpenter, a cooper and a shoemaker, so he knew how to do everything in life. When his father, a steam locomotive driver, died on another business trip, he remained in the family for the eldest. His mother raised at that moment two youngest daughters, who were 2-3 years old, she worked as a cleaner, a watchman at the school, and lived there at the school. In 1943, my grandfather went to work at the locomotive depot in the city of Zlatoust as a fireman. Grown men received him well, because he was an executive and conscientious boy. The work of the stoker is very hard, sometimes, the grandfather said, and the adult would fall asleep by the firebox. And he perfectly understood that food for the front must be delivered on time, tried not to fill up and toss coal into the locomotive's furnace in time. He was curious and intelligent, so he quickly learned not only the stoker, but even learned how to drive the train on his own. Sometimes, adults, experienced machinists went on a voyage without rest several times in a row, did not sleep for several days, and in order to have a little rest, they trusted a 13-year-old guy to drive a steam locomotive, i.e. in fact, he was not a fireman, but an assistant driver. So my grandfather worked in the depot until 1950, he was transferred from stokers to locksmiths. In 1950, on April 25, he was drafted into the army for three years. He served in military unit 3111 as a rifleman. Then he graduated from college and continued serving in military unit 3116 in the Kremlin regiment, was an assistant commander of a rifle platoon with the rank of sergeant. This division was responsible for the protection of government buildings and top secret institutions. In 1953 he returned from the army to the city of Zlatoust, his bride was waiting for him - my grandmother - Amosova Ekaterina Ivanovna, they got married on 24.12.1953. In 1960 they moved to Kusa and stayed here. They had three children. My grandfather worked in a furniture factory, was a good carpenter. He was awarded the "Labor Veteran" medal, the "50 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" medal. He was awarded the title of "Veteran of Labor", as well as he has a certificate of "Veteran of the Great Patriotic War." My grandfather was 76 years old when he left this world. He meant a lot to me, and I want the memory of him and his life to be eternal!
