CITY: Kasselsky settlement, Nagaybaksky district, Chelyabinsk region DATE OF BIRTH: 01.01.1901 DATE OF DEATH: 02.24.1943 HISTORY: Konstantin Artemyev was born in Kassel in 1901 in the family of the Orenburg Cossack Ivan Artemiev, who at first was a clerk for the village ataman Ivan Dmitriyevich Kash in 1917, not accepting Soviet power, he left with the White Cossacks. Konstantin, being a 16-year-old youth, left with the "reds", ended up in the detachment of the commander of the Red Army, Grigory Ivanovich Kotovsky, where he joined the Bolshevik party. His path was thorny for seven years, when his relatives did not receive any news from him. Together with a detachment of Kotovsky, he fought with the Basmachs in the Crimea, in the Ukraine and returned home in crimson revolutionary riding breeches, awarded with a personalized pistol and horse. And at home, not everything was good - his father died during the retreat of the whites near the village of Ferschampenoise, his mother died. Soon Konstantin met his fate - Praskovya and married her. Praskovya Dosmanova was a beautiful blue-eyed girl. The young family settled in Kassel. In 1929-1930, when collectivization began, they already had four children: Claudia, Catherine, Fedor, Maria. The family lived in Fershampnoise, the head of the family, Konstantin Ivanovich, worked as the editor of the district newspaper. During the times of persecution and repression, they had to return to Kassel, their father was accused of sabotaging the collective farm property. But, fortunately for the family, everything turned out well, and they moved to the Verkhneuralsky district in full force, and his father worked as the head of the mill, grain warehouse. By 1940, they already had seven children, Zoya, Tatiana, Valentina were born. The children of Konstantin and Praskovya Artemievs - Maria Podyacheva, Zoya Zharova, Tatyana Podobedova, Valentina Kiselyova and Yuri Artemiev (born 1942) were present at the meeting, they recalled mother's warm hands and happy pre-war life when their father was there. The war began. Praskovya was pregnant with her eighth child; on January 29, 1942, an heir appeared in the family. His father did not have to babysit for long. Exactly two months later, on March 25, he received a summons to the front. The Artemiev family has preserved these childhood memories of the sad farewell of his father to the front. All the hardships and worries about the children fell on the 36-year-old woman-mother. And the soldier Konstantin Artemiev defended Stalingrad as part of the 64th Army under the command of General Mikhail Shumilov. He covered a height of 142.2 (Lysaya Gora) near the village of Beketovka, south of the city of Stalingrad. What was our hero thinking about, in 1943, holding the height of 142.2? Probably about children, about his beloved wife, and about a very young son ... He fulfilled his duty to the end and remained lying forever on that burnt height, dug with deep craters, covered with fragments from bombs and shells.
