From April 1942 he served on the Southwestern Front as a gun commander of the 2nd separate tank battalion of the 133rd tank brigade, and as a gun commander of the 2nd tank company of the 168th tank regiment of the 5th mechanized corps. Participated in the Battle of Stalingrad. 12/13/1942 stood on the defensive in the area of the Golovskoy farm in the Koganovichi district of the Stalingrad region, was the commander of the tower of the MK-2 tank. When attacking enemy tanks and machine gunners, with accurate fire from the first shot, he knocked out one enemy tank and destroyed up to 20 German soldiers and officers with machine-gun fire. 12/19/1942 in the area of the Novoderbenkovsky farm in the Koganovichi district of the Stalingrad region. When a column of German tanks appeared with well-aimed fire from his tank, he knocked out 3 German tanks and 1 tank by arson. Received a severe wound in the eye. From October 1943 to December 1944 he was a mechanic - driver - senior sergeant of the 233rd tank brigade on the South - Western Front. During the entire war he had 2 severe and 3 light wounds.
