Castorensky district, village Goryainovo DATE OF BIRTH: 01/01/1919 DATE OF DEATH: - HISTORY: Title: Senior Sergeant Type of troops: Artillery Unit: 112th Infantry Rylsko-Korostenskaya Red Banner Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Division. Olga Ledeneva is my grandmother's sister. Before the war Olga worked in Voronezh at the Electrosignal plant. As soon as the war began, she enrolled in nursing courses. Then she went to the front . She was honest, disciplined, executive, combative, knowing her job, a patriot warrior. So her comrades wrote about her to her great-grandmother. She was always in battle formations: In Stalingrad, on the Kursk Bulge and during its breakthrough, when crossing rivers and such a large water barrier as the Dnieper! Always on the battlefield she provided assistance to wounded officers and soldiers. She herself was also wounded three times, and after she recovered, cheerful, blooming communist warrior girl always returned to service and said: "I will go to my battalion." From a letter from Lieutenant Colonel Chumak, Deputy Unit Commander for Political Affairs. Olya died a heroic death in the battle for the village of Senkovo, Lviv region. Ukraine. Olga, seeing that the platoon commander Vadim Krotov was wounded and bleeding, rushed to him, bandaged the wound, took it out of the fire. But soon an enemy bullet pierced her body !!! In this battle we lost our Olya !!! She was buried with all the honors, like a patriot warrior. We learned about this from the letters of Olga's comrades in arms. Many years after the war, in 1966 (July 17 - the day of the liberation of Rodekhov) in Rodekhovo, Ukraine, the Alley of Heroes cemetery was opened, where Olga Ledeneva was buried! In honor of Olga, pioneer detachments in schools were named, in one of the Rodekhov hospitals there was a personalized cup of Olga Ledeneva transferred to the best department of the hospital, the field where wheat was grown and there was a monument named after Olga. This field was called "Olgino Pole" !!! Eternal memory to Grandma !!! She will always live in the hearts of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Olga Ledeneva is immortal. As long as we remember and honor her!
