Rank: Lieutenant Military Branch: Land Forces, Air Force (except naval aviation), Coastal Service, NKVD troops, Border Guard Unit: 301st Stalin's Rifle Division of Order Suvorov Ivan Akimovich Kolomoets was born in the village of Elisavetovka in Rostov region. In 1937 the Military Commissariat of the Starominsky district in Yeisk moved into Soviet Army. Then he was sent to study in the 95th Rifle Division of the 161st Regiment and enrolled in a tank school as a cadet in Kotovsk, Odessa region. From October 1939 to May 1940 he was a member of Belofino Company, from July 1940 to October 1940 he took part in the liberation of Moldova from the Romanian invaders. Then he was released. On May 10, 1941 he was called up for retraining and sent to Yeisk to the Military School of Naval Aviation and then to the school for training of junior specialists in Astrakhan, where he was a sergeant of the car company.since September 1942 .at the North Caucasus front of a separate battalion of machine-gunners of the 34th Separate Rifle Brigade, foreman of the 3rd company, then until August 1943 commander of a company of machine-gunners. From August 1943 at the front South-Western as a part of the Rifle Regiment 1054 of the 301st Donetsk Order of the Suvorov Order of the 2nd class of the Suvorov Division of the 9th Suvorov Division, participated in the liberation of Kuban, Stavropol Territory, North Caucasus, then liberation in Donbass-Makeyevka and Donetsk etc. He was seriously wounded and taken to a hospital in Donetsk, Taganrog, Syzran. After the hospitals he was ordered and sent to the place of convocation of Starominskaya RVC, Krasnodar Territory. He worked as the chairman of the collective farm "Twenty years of October", then as the head of the military department of the district party committee and again as the chairman of the collective farm "Red Way", but the wounds reminded of themselves and he had to undergo long-term treatment. After that he worked at other workplaces. Because the way of struggle he had awards: 1st medal "for military merits", " 2nd Order of the Red Star", 3rd medal "for the defense of the Caucasus", 4th medal "for the victory over Germany", as well as medals on the anniversaries of the victory - 20 years, 25 years, 35 years etc. In peacetime he received the medal "for brave work", the medal "Small silver" for successes in social work.agriculture of the All-Union Exhibition in 1955. On the frontline roads of combat operations he knew the hero of Soviet Union V. S. Antonov from 1942 to the 34th separate rifle brigade until the end of September 1943 on 301 rifle divisions. In his book "The Road to Berlin" Antonov mentions in the episodes during the liberation of Makeevka and Donetsk, Kolomoets I. A. in 1975 and 1983 was invited to the anniversaries of the liberation of Donetsk. This is our great-grandfather!!!!! Yes, you can write a book about him, and sometimes he did not really tell his children and grandchildren about his heroic deeds.
