My father, Mikhail Ivanovich Kuvakin, was born in the city of Kusa in 1913. Before the war he worked in Kusinsky d / d No. 2, as a headmaster for educational work. In 1933 he married V. P. He served in Ski Battalion number 106. The Finnish War ended in March. But by government decree all soldiers born in 1913 were brought to Moldova, and he did not return home until September 1940. He spent the winter at home. And on 22 June the war started again, with Germany. And in the first month of the war my father was drafted back into the army. On November 23, 1941, near Tikhvin, he received a shrapnel wound on his left buttock and lower leg with an injury to the sciatic nerve. From 29th of November 1941 he was treated at EG 3469, from which he retired on 10 March 1942. Because of an injury to the left sciatic nerve, the military medical commission was declared unfit for military service according to article 9-a gr. 1 of the NKO's medical register of USSR No. 184 1940 with one exception from the register. He was recognized as a disabled person of the Great Patriotic War of the 3rd group. For participation in the Great Patriotic War M. I. Kuwakin was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree and has 4 medals: "for the victory over Germany" for brave work in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945", "50 years of the Armed Forces of USSR", " 20 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945". After he was injured, he came home on crutches and was taken on a horse to work in an orphanage. But then he recovered a little and walked by himself. My father died in 1974, and as a participant in the Great Patriotic War, the regional government erected a marble monument to him.
