Katsuba Maria Tarasovna
Here is a man who has been through the entire war sitting in front of me... Who saw in her 16 years so many nightmares and horror, so many human losses, that looking at her, you wonder: "How did she bear all this, how did she cope with it?" We talked with her on various topics, and after a while we talked about events related to the war. After all, we were all interested in hearing the history of that time. But her gaze quickly changed, and the smile faded from her face. She didn't say much. But even with this little information, we could see why she had turned dark. You can be amazed at her courage: at the age of 16, she volunteered for the war and became a scout. “We all had more then enough when the war started. There was hunger.. We were swollen from hunger.. Everything was. Maria Tarasovna began to tell the story with a tremor in her voice.—Well, how did you get to the front?"Well, I did. When they started taking the guys, well, we were 6 girls volunteered for. Yeah, they didn’t want to take us, we took years to get away. We were only 16 years old. Well, what to do. All the men were taken. 17-year-olds and even younger. It's like everything is dead around.. It was necessary, but where to go...Okay girls, well, it's about the war, let's talk about good things, and then I have goosebumps start to run. I don't want to remember anything.. As soon as you remember — a chill runs through your skin and you don't want to remember anything. Sometimes you turn on the TV and you see excerpts from war movies — and I turn them off right away. When I see their shape. I'm just shaking, I don't want to see them. I can't stand them, these fascists. Even when they show Merkel, although she has nothing to do with it, but still do not want to see. Although today is a different time, different people...but...the residue of the past.. How they hanged and killed our people.. We saw how difficult it was for her to talk about it, how she looked at her fingers and quickly fingered them. So we decided to change the subject. We also asked Maria Tarasovna about her village, where she lived before the war. She talked with a smile on her face, about her big farm, about the river next to it, over which a bridge was built. About the time when she and her friends went to the forest for mushrooms and berries. As they are not afraid of snakes and wild animals, they lived in peace and in harmony with nature. And many other things, she remembered with tenderness and trepidation. - Maria Tarasovna, what would you like to wish the modern generation? — I only want health and well-being. So that the clear sky is always above you, so that there is no war, so that you will never know it, never know it. This is my biggest wish. So that you respect each other, support each other, and understand each other. Then there will never be a war. War is the worst thing. Just let there always be peace.
