Vorontsov, Major General and former Head of intelligence of the 4th Guards Army, recalls in the book "the Failure of operation Citadel": "On the way to the observation point of the 2nd guards Rifle Ccorps, I noticed a small group of officers and soldiers huddled around a stack of straw. I come closer. It turns out that a prisoner is being interrogated. Suddenly the explosions of shells and mines became more frequent, and we went to a small shelter. The interrogation was led by intelligence chief of the 8th Guards Airborne division guards Major Safroshin. The guard was translated by Lieutenant Luba Kaganovich. I look at this fragile girl, a recent student of Gorky University, and I am surprised. How she grew up and resented, with what knowledge of the military matter she interrogates a prisoner! Until recently, participating in interrogations, she was timid, did not know where to start, what information is primarily interested in the command, how to catch a prisoner in a lie and contradictions in his testimony. But now he holds himself with great dignity, confidently asks questions, and their very tone tells the prisoner that it will not be possible to hold it."..
