Gaidukov took part in the Konigsberg operation. Semyon Vasilyevich especially distinguished himself during the storming of Konigsberg. The 349th Rifle Regiment was to storm the city from the South on April 6, 1945. In the subsequent battles for Konigsberg, corporal Haidukov was seriously injured and evacuated to a hospital. He did not return to the front. Semyon Vasilyevich met the Victory in the hospital. On April 19, 1945, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Corporal Semyon Vasilyevich Gaidukov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. After recovery, Semyon Vasilyevich was demobilized and returned to his native places. He lived in the village of Ilovlya, Volgograd region, and worked as an inspector of the state insurance of the RSFSR. On June 6, 1996, he died. He was buried in the urban-type settlement of Ilovlya."
