Gruzdev Ivan Nikolayevich
He was born in 1902 in a large family in the village of Alnashi. At the end of the 7th grade of school, he went to work at the post office. At first, he delivered mail to villages, then, after completing professional courses, became a cashier, then head of the Soyuzpechat Department, and by the beginning of the war he was in the position of Deputy head of the Alnash communications center. He received a summons from the military enlistment office in August 1941. He was sent to the courses of political instructors in the city of Krasnoufimsk, and then to the front. He fought in the foot reconnaissance near Moscow (Vyazma direction, Vazuza river), then on the Belarusian Front. Twice seriously wounded, after the second wound in 1943, he returned to Alnashi as a ""convalescent"". From documents of the Central military archive: ""Gruzdev Ivan Nikolaevich distinguished himself as a Junior political officer of the Foot Reconnaissance Platoon of the 1104th Rifle Regiment of the 331st Rifle Division (20th Army). He personally destroyed 17 fascists with a light machine gun, blew up 2 dugouts with enemy manpower, and captured a German soldier in a reconnaissance battle on August 18, 1942 near Burgovo village. The platoon under his leadership destroyed more than 50 soldiers and officers, blew up 17 dugouts, destroyed 5 machine-gun points, 2 mortar units with servants."" There is also a clipping from the front-line soldier's newspaper about this event, which my grandfather sent in a letter with a request to save it, which the family does to this day. Of course, it has turned yellow from time to time, its cut edges are frayed, but it remains a family treasure and a Testament to those difficult but heroic soldier's everyday life as well as the order book, and his pass to the front, which he had the right to check the calculations. After the end of the war, he worked as head of the Zagotskot office, Chairman of the Alnash village Council, Director of The alnash Creamery, head of the municipal Department of the Executive Committee. He retired in 1962. He died on December 30, 1977."
