Rank: Junior Sergeant. Branch of troops: Armored and mechanized troops. Division: 2nd Sivash anti-aircraft artillery division of the order of Kutuzov. I want to tell you about one case. Once after Easter day according to the custom we all went in the morning to the cemetry to visit the graves of our relatives, to clean the graves, to sprinkle paths with the sand, to repaint the fences, etc. After that, relatives gathered at our house in the kitchen and among them was grandfather Grigory, who was a pilot officer in the war, and, as usual, under a hundred grams, they began to tell the same story that happened during the war, at which my father participated in a land battles while grandfather Grigory was engaged in sky battles. My father's story: in the Crimea, they took up a defensive position in the area of the railway, having received orders to disable the railway track, to gain a foothold in anticipation of the approach of a German armored train. The work was done, several rails were removed, the embankment was destroyed. After that they dugged in and had to wait. An armored train appeared, reached the destroyed area and stopped - at this time our planes flew in and began dropping bombs. Having completed the task, they calmly flew to the air base. The story of grandfather Gregory: they flew up and bombed the armored train to smithereens and flew away, reporting on a brilliantly completed task. Continuation of the story of his father: bombs that were dropeed missed nazi armoured train and never caused it any damage. That is why right after that it opened heavy fire on our ground positions, destroying almost everything around. The German armored train always had in stock as rails as all possible accessories for repairing the track. In the shortest possible time, nazi repaired all the damage and the train left for the city of Dzhankoy com
