Rank: Specialist
Unit: 330th Mogilev Red Banner Order of Suvorov Rifle Division
He was born in 1907 in the village of Batyushkovo Dmitrov District of the Moscow Region. He married my grandmother Agrafena Bobkova in 1930. They had four children: three sons and one daughter, my mother. My grandfather worked as an accountant for a collective farm in the same village of Batyushkovo. As my mother told me, my grandfather was very competent and reasonable, everyone consulted him on any issues related to the collective farm and not only. Alexey Bobkov went to the front as a volunteer from the first days of the war. In the battles near Moscow in 1941, he was seriously wounded and stayed in a hospital in the city of Dmitrov, Moscow Region. As far as I know, my grandmother went there to visit him, and this was the last time they met. We still have my grandfather's last triangular letter from the front, which he wrote on May 31, 1943. Our grandfather reached the rank of Specialist, was a rifleman. His last place of service was the 3rd Rifle Regiment of the 330th Rifle Division. Alexey Bobkov was killed on November 30, 1943 at the edge of the forest at 800 meters South of the village Zagornoe Chauskiy District, Mogilev Region, Belarus. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Antonovka, Chauskiy District, Mogilev Region. There were reports that he was wounded and was traveling in an ambulance train when they were attacked by the Nazis, and in this battle our grandfather died. We, all his descendants - children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are proud of him, honor his memory and always remember with great respect our grandfather and all those who died in the Great Patriotic War, giving us life, freedom and a peaceful sky above our heads!
