Khameden Bisemaliev

Branch of service: Artillery In our family we are proud of great-grandfather Khameden Bisemaliev and thank him for a Great Victory. His countrymen respected him for his honesty, kindness, and his help in difficult times. He started working early in life on a local collective farm. Soon he was appointed a Chairman of the Semibugorinsky Village Council, since he was a successful fisherman, endowed with a natural mind, sharpness and ability to organize people, a party member since 1937. Not indifferent to the fate of the country, when the Homeland was in mortal danger, Hameden could not stay in the rear and more than once applied to the military Commissariat to be sent to the front. Only at the end of November of 1941, his application was granted – and soon he found himself on the front in Stalingrad. After a heavy wound and a treatment in a hospital, Hamedan returns home. Despite his disability, having shown will and character, he maneged a crew of fishermen of the collective farm "Kzyl Kunchugus" of the Zastensky Village Council. At the height of the Great Patriotic War, a Patriotic movement widely developed among the country's workers, they were raising money for the defense Fund for the production of tanks, aircraft and other military equipment. Our great-grandfather Hamedan contributed to the Defense Fund of 110 000 rubles. His letter to Joseph Stalin was published in the regional newspaper on January 14, 1943 "Kolkhoznik Kaspiya”: “Moscow. Kremlin. To I. Stalin With a patriotic enthusiasm of the workers of the whole country and the love for the Motherland, wishing the speedy and final defeat of the worst enemy of all the peoples the German fascists, I, brigadier of river fishing collective farm "Kyzyl Nunchukus" Selenskogo Village Council of Kamyzyaksky District of the Stalingrad Region Hamedan Bisemaliev, keeping up with my four brothers fighting at the front of the Patriotic War, has made a donation of 110 000 rubles for the construction of combat aircraft. Please give it the name "Red East". I pledge my continued hard work in the rear to help the Red Army, to beat the fascist evil spirits with additional hundreds and thousands of pounds of fish. On 11 January 1943 Khameden Bisemaliev". Soon he received a government telegram from Moscow: "Comrade Khamedan Bisemaliev. Thank You for helping the Red Army. At Your request, Your funds will be used for the construction of the Krasny Vostok aircraft. Supreme Commander-in-Chief I. Stalin". It is difficult to say whether the loss of his only son affected him so much or whether the desire to take revenge on the fascists was boiling in his blood, and it was this desire that made him turn his blood and labor savings into weapons that smashed the hated enemy. Anyway, Hameden Bisemaliev wanted to quickly cleanse our sacred land from the fascist invaders, and make the country pecefull and prosperous. The fisherman fulfilled his promise to the Motherland with honor. Only in the fourth quarter of 1942, he and his crew completed the fish production plan by 670%. But the earthly path of the honest man and the citizen, a true patriot Khameden Bisemaliev was short. Affected by the severe injuries he received in the battle, and hard fishing work – he died in 1944, 39 years old, not having lived a few months before the bright day of the great Victory. A participant in the bloodiest battle on the Volga River, a selfless home front worker, a fisherman and a true patriot of our land, who donated his life savings to the construction of the Red Vostok combat aircraft. Such was, such remains he in the memory of grateful descendants. This is a real feat, worthy admiration and pride.
