Titov Ivan Alexandrovich

Rank: Captain _x000D_ Branch of troops: Coastal Defense and Air Defense Artillery, Coastal Units, Aviation of the RKKF and the Naval Forces of the NKVD Border Troops _x000D_ My grandfather, Titov Ivan Alexandrovich, was born in 1904 in the village of Molochkovo, Ilyinsky district, Ivanovo region. After the war, he lived and worked in the city of Ivanovo, Ivanovo region, in a managerial position at a factory. Ivan Alexandrovich died in 1949 and was buried in the cemetery in the town of Sosnevo in the city of Ivanovo. His family had seven children (Yuri, Boris, Victor, Vladimir, Valery, Galina and Nikolai), his wife's name was Anna Georgievna. _x000D_ In 1927, my grandfather, Titov Ivan Alexandrovich, graduated from the Regimental School of 1st Moscow Rifle Regiment and was awarded the rank of Junior Commander of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He fought in the Finnish War. He was drafted to the Great Patriotic War in June 1941 by the Oktyabrskiy Military Comissariat of the Ivanovo Region and went through the whole war until the very end, first in parts of the Moscow Air Defense Front, then in parts of 3rd Corps of the Eastern Front of Air Defense. _x000D_ He served as a captain and commanded a platoon. He was a Senior Communist and the Secretary of the party commission of 784th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment of the Air Defense. He conducted patriotic work with soldiers, helped young soldiers incombat. According to the Military Council of the Eastern Front of the Air Defense, the state of party political work in the Regiment was recognized as the best of all parts of the Corps. With his diligence and responsiveness to the needs of the Red Army, my grandfather has earned sincere respect and authority among the personnel of the Regiment. _x000D_ During the period of the raids on the city of Gorky, he was constantly in the most critical areas, on batteries that were subjected to bomb attacks. Personal fearlessness and composure ensured efficient work of personnel and high morale. _x000D_ For his courage and heroism during the Great Patriotic War, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Medal For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as other medals and distinctions. _x000D_ Our family is proud of our soldier Ivan Aleksandrovich Titov. According to my aunt's recollections, their father was kind and fair. He was a courageous man and told the children how, under open enemy fire, together with other soldiers, he fired back. Not fearing death, he went on the attack, raising everyone behind him. Of course, it was very scary in the war. It was hard for his children, at that time there were six of them, all of them had to be fed and taught.
