In 1937 Sidorin Viktor Ivanovich, according to a special set, was sent to the Chkalov (Orenburg) Aviation School of Pilots, which he graduated in 1941. After completing the courses at the Lipetsk Aviation Center, he was appointed as the Flight Commander. _x000D_ Since April 1943 he had been participating in hostilities on the Southwest, 3rd and 1st Ukrainian fronts as part of 109th Assault Aviation Regiment of 6th guards Assault Aviation Zaporozhye Division. _x000D_ Sidorin Viktor Ivanovich from 1941 to 1943 had been a Flight Commander training attack pilots. _x000D_ Since April 1943 he had been a participant in hostilities on the South-Western, 3rd and 1st Ukrainian fronts as part of 109th Assault Aviation Regiment of 6th Guards Assault Aviation Division as a flight Commander , deputy squadron Commander, Commander of 1st air squadron of the Regiment. He participated in the combats of the Kursk-Belgorod operation, in liberation of the cities of Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Sandomir, Lvov, Warsaw, Prague, the capture of Berlin. _x000D_ During the Great Patriotic War, he flew 120 flights on the Il-2 aircraft, out of 105 flights he was the leader of a group of 4, 6, 8, 12 and 18 aircrafts. The last flight flew on May 8, 1945 to liberate Prague from the German invaders. Under the leadership of Viktor Ivanovich Sidorin, his squadron flew 555 combat missions. _x000D_ For personal bravery, courage and heroism shown in combat missions and command of an air squadron, Viktor Sidorin was awarded two Orders of the Red Banner, two Orders of the Red Star, two Orders of the Patriotic War of the second degree, the Order of the Patriotic War of the first degree, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, medals "For Military Merit"," For Capture of Berlin "," For Liberation of Prague "," For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945»._x000D_ In 1945, shortly before the end of the Great Patriotic War, Sidorin Viktor Ivanovich, was nominated for the title "Hero of the Soviet Union" by Major Yashanov, Commander of 109th Guards Assault Aviation Regiment._x000D_ Sidorin Viktor Ivanovich participated in the Victory Parade on Red Square on June 24, 1945.
