Arefiev Mikhail Evgenievich was born in 1914 in the village of Livenka. Before the war he worked as a procurer in the village of Vorobievka, Voronezh Region. Was drafted into the Red Army in 1941 on August 15. Rank: Sergeant. He fought in the 72nd rifle regiment. For preparation and training in military affairs, Mikhail Evgenievich was sent to the city of Ikorets, Voronezh region, to the 72nd rifle regiment. After heavy bombing of this area, they are transferred to the Saratov region, the city of Pugachev. In the city of Pugachev, an army field base was formed, which was then transferred to the defense of Stalingrad. After the defeat of the Nazis in Stalingrad, the army base was replenished with recruits and equipment and sent to the Kursk Bulge, where they were unloaded at St. Oskolom. The 20th field army base took part in the liberation of the city of Belgorod, in the liberation of Prokhorovka, the Rzhava station, and other cities and villages. Then, deploying a broad offensive along the entire front, our troops began to rapidly move forward, liberating Poltava, Lvov, and moved into Poland. In Germany, Rosenberg was liberated as part of the 1st Ukrainian Front, Dresden. Part of them was sent from Dresden to liberate Prague. Here the war ended for Mikhail Evgenievich. On December 2, 1945, he was demobilized from the Red Army to the rank of sergeant. After mobilization, Mikhail Evgenievich returned to his native village of Livenka, where he worked from 1947 to 1976 at the Livenskaya pharmacy. Mikhail Evgenievich is a labor veteran and a disabled veteran of the Great Patriotic War.
