Koshkin Mikhail Pavlovich
Rank: Colonel. Born on December 4, 1919 in the village of Dotsenk, Perevolotsk district, Orenburg region, in the family of a poor peasant. My father died in the civil war in 1921. The mother was left with five young children. Due to the fact that the family was financially very poor, Mikhail, at the age of eight, began to work on a collective farm as a weigher-accountant, combining work with his studies at school. In 1936, after finishing seven classes, he entered the Orenburg technical school of communications. In 1937, from the second year of the technical school, he was admitted to the Orenburg military school of anti-aircraft artillery. From June 22, 1941 to August 1943 He participated in hostilities as part of the Moscow Corps, and then served in the Special Air Defense Army in the positions of: battery commander, division commissar, deputy division commander, deputy regiment commander for combat units. In October-December 1941, as a battalion commissar, he took part in the anti-tank defense of Moscow, for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. In August 1943 he was sent to study at the Artillery Military Academy, from which he graduated in November 1947. In the Victory Parade on June 24, 1945, he participated in the combined battalion of the Dzerzhinsky Military Artillery Academy with the rank of major. January 1948 to December 1956 worked at the Central Scientific Research Institute of the Air Defense Forces in the following positions: researcher, senior researcher of the shooting department, head of the editorial department and the department of scientific and technical information. December 1956 to 1974 worked at the Military Command Academy of Air Defense in the following positions: head of the editorial and publishing department and deputy head of the faculty. He served in the Soviet Army for over 37 years. Dismissed from the Armed Forces with the rank of colonel. After leaving the reserve from 1974 to 1981. worked at Tver State University as head of the editorial and publishing department and senior researcher at the Department of General Physics. He was awarded two Orders of the Red Star and 12 jubilee medals. He died on March 15, 1981.
