Kleymenov Nikolay Ilyich

Nikolay Ilyich Kleimenov was born on May 5, 1913 in the Oryol region. Korsakovsky district, Malinovo village. When the Great Patriotic War began, he was mobilized by the Shcherbakov Millitary Commissariat on June 24, 1941. He fought as part of the 899 rifle regiment of the 248 rifle division of the Western Front. There was a rifle squad commander. In the summer he took the soldiers of his squad out of the encirclement. He took part in the Battle of Moscow. In the battles near Moscow on December 9, 1941, he was seriously wounded, but remained in the ranks and continued to command his squad all day. The squad carried out the order of the command and held the occupied line, repelling enemy attacks. Was presented to the Order of Glory III degree. In peacetime he worked as a chauffeur, head of a garage at the Moscow Oil Plant. Then he was transferred to work in the Riga motor depot of Moscow’s Public TransportAuthority.
