Gusev Vasily Ivanovich
He was born on the 26th of December 26, 1908, in a peasant family. In 1928 he graduated from the school of the 2nd stage, with a pedagogical bias. In 1939 he graduated from two courses of the Chelyabinsk pedagogical institute, moved to the correspondence department but did not manage to graduate from the institute. After graduation he was an organizer of educational programs in the Poltava district of the Chelyabinsk region. From 1929 to 1932 he was the head of an elementary school in the village of Yershovka of the Kizilsky district, the Chelyabinsk region. From 1932 to 1935 he was a teacher of mathematics at the secondary school in the village of Kizil of the Chelyabinsk region. From 1935 to 1940 he worked as a head teacher and teacher of mathematics at a secondary school in the village of Dolgaya of the Chelyabinsk region, and since August 1940 - the director of this school. September 1941 – the 37th rifle division, the Karelian front, he served in an anti-tank battery as a gunner. At the beginning of 1942 in heavy fighting with the Finns of the four guns of his battery only his gun remained. In the same year he joined the party and was soon appointed commissar of the battery. In February 1943 he was sent to the Dnepropetrovsk artillery school (Tomsk). Then he was seconded to the SMERSH school in Novosibirsk, after which, from November 1943 till the 15th of May, 1945, he served as an criminal investigator and participated in the 23rd guards motorized rifle brigade of the 7th guards tank corps (the 1st Ukrainian front). In May 1945 he was seconded to Dresden (Germany) as part of the occupation forces. He served in Germany until June 1951 as a senior investivator in the cities of Chemnitz and Leipzig. From 1951 to 1959 he worked in the bodies (NKVD, Ministry of State Security, Committee for State Security) of Chelyabinsk. In 1959 he retired and worked from 1959 to 1966 in the Chelyabinsk council of national economy as an instructor of the 1st department. From 1966 to 1979 he worked as the head of the first department of the Chelyabinsk plant of road machines named after Kolyushchenko, and for 10 years he was re-elected secretary of the party bureau of the plant management. He had government awards: order of the Red Star no. 881220 dated the 6th of March, 1943; order of the Patriotic War of the second degree no. 2977738 dated the 11th of March, 1985; medal “For the capture of Berlin” no. 365154 dated the 20th of December, 1945; medal “For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” no. 011936 dated the 10th of June, 1946; medal "Veteran of labor" dated the 22nd of Decembedr, 1975; 9 anniversary medals. He also got many letters of acknowledgment from the commander-in-chief's headquarters for the capture of Berlin, Dresden, Prague, the defense on the Neiss river, etc.
