Grigory Kravtsov born on the 14th of May, 1922 Participant of the Second World War, died on the 11th of January, 1945. On the 6th of April, 1945, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR awarded Lieutenant Grigory Mikhailovich Kravtsov the posthumous title Hero of the Soviet Union. The village of Starozhilovka, where Grigory was born and grew up, was awarded the title of Kravtsovo. June 22, 1941. When the War began, Grigory Kravtsov was 19 years old. He was an honest soldier and fulfilled his duty to the Motherland to the end. He asked to go to the front, and in 1942 he was sent to the military-political school and was taught that the War was not for one day. Grigory Kravtsov was assigned to the 163rd fighter aviation regiment. However, Lieutenant Grigory Kravtsov did not have to fly for long, he was wounded in a battle with Nazis’ vultures and only by an inhuman effort of willpower did the plane reaching its airfield and landed. This was his last battle with the Nazis in the air. The hospital days dragged on him in a long line. November 9, 1944 went with the group in search. In the trench, we came across a sentry who managed to shout, and a battle ensued. In this battle, Kravtsov personally destroyed 8 German soldiers. He acted himself clearly and skillfully led the night fight. The scouts repulsed several attacks with grenades, destroyed the defensive node of the Nazis, which ensured the passage of Soviet units. They took two prisoners and returned to their position at dawn. For completing the task and showing courage and bravery, by order of the commander of the 69th army, Grigory Kravtsov was awarded the Patriotic War II degree. Last battle, Grigory Kravtsov was wounded twice and he did not leave the battlefield, he died in battle on January 11th, 1945, in the town of Florenov (Germany).
