Vladimir Maksimovich Korolev
Rank: corporal. Troops: Communication Troops. Division: 194th Rifle Division of the Rechitsa Red Banner Division. My great-grandfather, Vladimir Maksimovich Korolev, was born in 1924. He was born in Solopiano village, Kaluga region Yukhnovskogo district. At the end of the summer of 1941, two fascists on a motorcycle came to the village of Solopikhino to replenish food supplies. They broke into my great-grandfather's house, where his mother was at the time. The fascists demanded food: milk, eggs and bread. My great-grandfather jumped out of the window and ran to gather the village children. When the supplies were replenished, the Krauts got on the motorcycle and went back. The road ran through the forest. There my seventeen-year-old great-grandfather and the village boys ambushed the Krauts. Having dealt with the Germans, the guys tied them up and took them on a motorcycle to the city of Yukhnov. They were thanked there. Then the children were sent to study at the artillery school. After graduating from school, my great-grandfather was drafted into the Red Army, in the 194 rifle division. Throughout the war, my great-grandfather served in a rifle division and provided communications for artillery commanders, which made it easy to direct artillery fire. In 1943, when my great-grandfather was only 19 years old, being a Red Army soldier, he received the medal "For Courage”. In 1943, on August 26, my great-grandfather was wounded. In 1944, on January 25, being in the rank of corporal as a signalman of a platoon, and managing the command of division-194, my great-grandfather was awarded the order of the Red Star. On April 4, 1986, on the 40th anniversary of the victory, he was awarded the order of the "Patriotic War 2 degree".
