Kolotiy Ivan Grigoryevich
Kolotiy Ivan Grigoryevich was born on October 7, 1923 in Lyalintsy, Zolotonosha uyezd, Poltava province (now it is the vollage Yalintsy, Kremenchug district, Poltava region). In may 1937, Ivan Kolotia's family moved to the village Vodny in Komi ASSR. In Ukhta secondary school No. 1, he studied from 5th to 9th grade. After finishing school he worked as a diesel engine driver at DES in the village Vodny. In July 1942, Ivan Grigoryevich was called up to the ranks of the defenders of the Fatherland by Ukhta district military Commissariat. "Training" took place in Vologda, in the "Red barracks" - where he received the rank of Sergeant. Served on the southern front, as a commander of a machine-gun crew in the 149th guards rifle regiment. On July 16, 1943, he was bombed near Voroshilovgrad. He was closing the door to the dugout, when a shell exploded behind him, as a result, Ivan Grigoryevich received 7 shrapnel wounds – one of which deprived him of three fingers on his left hand, and some of the shrapnel remained inside until the last days of his life. From July 1943 to November 1943, Ivan Grigoryevich was first in the evacuation hospital for treatment, then on short-term leave for injury-at home in the Komi ASSR. Until the end of the war, he served as head of the searchlight station in the 13th separate searchlight battalion on the 1st Ukrainian front. At the front Ivan Grigoryevich met his future wife, Zoya Pavlovna, who served as a red army driver, in the same 13th separate searchlight battalion. He finished the war with the rank of senior Sergeant. In 1949 Ivan Grigoryevich graduated Ukhta mining and oil technical school with a degree in mining and electrical engineering. He worked as a head of the electrical shop in the plant Progress, in the village Vodny. After retirement, he started to work at the sports base of the plant Progress. Due to his efforts a lighted ski track in the Park appeared. Many times Ivan Grigoryevich performed at the competition in the veteran group, getting prizes. So, in 1985, he took first place in the 40 km ski marathon dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Victory. He died on March 14, 1992. Military awards : - orders of the Patriotic war of I and II degrees; - medal "for the victory over Germany in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945"; - 5 anniversary medals. Labor awards: - medal "for heroic labor. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Lenin"; - medal "Veteran of labor".
