Gorbenko Andrey Andreevich, born in 1922, a native of the Ukrainian SSR, Dnepropetrovsk region, Pokrovsky district, Kamenovaty farm. Drafted by the Konosha Militar Commissariat05/19/1942 Lieutenant, Red Navy, intelligence officer of the reconnaissance platoon of the 4th Rifle Battalion 636 Infantry Fighting Vehicle SOR SF. In 1941, by Konosha Military Commissariat he was sent to courses for radio operators in Arkhangelsk, after which he worked as the head of the radio center. From 1942 to 1945 he served in active parts of the naval forces in the Northern Fleet. In 1945 he was transferred to the South Baltic Fleet. In 1947 he was demobilized. Awards: Order of the Red Star (10/21/1943) for the fact that Comrade Gorbenko A.A. is a disciplined, brave and hardy fighter, a competent and courageous intelligence officer. In a combat operation on October 8-9, 1943, he acted in a capture group and moved first together with the Red Navy Prokhorov. While comrade Prokhorov rushed at the Germans, Comrade Gorbenko, in order to paralyze the rest of the Germans, fired a burst from a submachine gun and, throwing a grenade into the midst of the Germans, rushed to the aid of Prokhorov, from whom the German, being stronger, had a submachine gun. Comrade Gorbenko snatched a machine gun from the enemy, helped Comrade Prokhorov quickly deal with the enemy and together dragged the prisoner. Despite the strong enemy machine-gun and mortar fire, Comrade Gorbenko ensured the delivery of the prisoner to his location (from the military performance to the award). During the assault on one of the strongholds on 10/11/1944, Comrade Gorbenko crawled forward and destroyed the sniper with fire from a machine gun and exclaimed: "Hurray!" rushed to the enemy, dragging the Red Navy men to storm the strongpoint, thereby securing the capture of the hill. In battle 10/13/1944 for Paravaara point, comrade Gorbenko with an exclamation: "Forward, sailors!" the first to break into the enemy's location and shoot 4 Germans point-blank (from the military presentation for the award); medal "For the Defense of the Soviet Arctic" · Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
