Borisenko Petr Fedorovich

Grade title: a Red army soldier; branch of service: artillery. Petr Fedorovich was in the Red Army since April 1943, the position of the riding battery of the 810th artillery regiment. This is the feat for which Petr Fyodorovich received the government award of the order of the Red Star. In the battles when the enemy's defenses were broke through in the North-West, the city of Shaulai, when crossing the Venta river near the village of Gribniki on the 5th of October, 1944, Petr Fedorovich performed the work of a driver of a battery that was on direct fire. All the time of the battle Petr Borisenko was on the battery. The battery was under the enemy’s fire and often changed battle formations; in each individual case, Petr Fedorovich provided proper shelter for the horses. He was the first to cross the Venta river without losses and in a timely manner, which provided a proper support for the infantry with fire and wheels. In the battle of breaking through the enemy's defenses on the 27th of October, 1944, the battery was constantly under the enemy’s fire, often changing battle formations and ensuring the destruction of the enemy’s firing points and thus allowing our infantry to advance. In the area of Arecules the enemy launched a counterattack with large forces of infantry and tanks; Petr Fedorovich put the horses in cover and he was directly at the guns. When the gun commander and gunner failed, comrade Borisenko stood as the gunner and opened massive fire on the enemy. In this battle he managed to hit one tank, to destroy four machine-gun points, one weapon (anti-tank defense) and up to twenty infantry soldiers of the enemy. Petr Fedorovich was also awarded two medals "For Bravery". On the 30th of August, 1943, at the height of 237.2 (Smolensk region), as part of the fighters and junior commanders (twelve people), they repelled two enemy’s counterattacks of up to forty people, of which up to thirty Krauts were killed. The date of the feat: the 13th – 18th of August, 1943. Red Army soldier Borisenko Petr Fedorovich carried twenty wounded soldiers and commanders with their weapons from the battlefield in the period from the 13th to the 18th of August, 1943, the village of Ivonino, Smolensk region. Petr Borisenko was awarded the medal "For Military Merits". For the fact that during the fighting since the 12th of September, 1943, under the heavy artillery and mortar fire of the enemy, he always delivered food to the observation post and ammunition to the firing positions and kept his horses in excellent condition, which contributed to the performance of the unit's combat tasks. We remember and honor and are proud of our heroic great – grandfather - Petr Fedorovich!
