Alexey Burukhin was called up for military service in November 1941 at the age of 18 and was enlisted in the 111th Reserve Rifle Regiment.
He participated in the fighting near Rzhev as asoldier the 1172 Rifle Regiment of the 348th Rifle Division from 9 to 23 February 1942. In a fierce battle, Alexey was wounded in the right hip and left hand (and also received a shrapnel wound to the head, which turned out much later, after the war) and was sent for treatment to the evacuation hospital, where he was from February to April 1942.
In April 1942, Alexey was sent to the Kuibyshev Military School of Communications, where he studied as a weapons master. He finished the war with the rank of a Sergeant.
After the war, Alexey lived in the city of Lyubertsy in the Moscow Region and worked selflessly at the Lyubertsy Plastics Plant as a Turner until his old age, exceeding the plan by 200-250%. For conscientious work, he was awarded the state award the Badge of Honor in 1966. He was a well-known and respected person in his city and in the professional circle, and his work was widely written about in the local newspaper Lyuberetskaya Pravda.
From a young age to the end of his life, Alexey lived with his beloved wife Maria Burukhina, a home front worker during the war, a loving wife and mother of their two children.
Alexey passed away in 1987 surrouded by his family - his wife, two children and three grandchildren. Low bow and bright memory to our hero and all the defenders of our great Motherland, who gave their best years and even their lives during the Great Patriotic war, in the struggle for the life and freedom of the future generations!
