Sivkov Dmitrii Egorovich

He was born into a poor peasant family. He graduated from high School with excellent grades. A penchant for drawing and music was outlined. In 1938, with the assistance of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, he entered the Saratov State Art School. In 1941 the Great Patriotic War began. Komsomol member, a 4th-year student, voluntarily joined the Red Army to defend his homeland. The military enlistment office of the city of Saratov sent him to the diving squad on the cruising submarine "L-19" (the city of Vladivostok).
In March 1944 he was transferred from the Pacific Fleet as a helmsman and signalman to the L-20 submarine of the Northern Fleet (Polyarny), where he served in the active fleet until the end of the war. Among the distinguished soldiers, he was sent to Moscow for the Victory Parade, which took place on June 24, 1945 on Red Square. Sivkov D.E. participated in the parade as part of the Consolidated Regiment of the Navy. This historic parade of winners was hosted by Marshal G.K. Zhukov, commanded by Marshal K.N. Rokossovsky. The most distinguished warriors, the best of the best, took part in the celebration, the crown of which was an exciting ceremony - at the foot of the Mausoleum of V.I. Lenin, 200 banners of the defeated fascist army and Hitler's personal standard were thrown.

I remember that the inhabitants of the capital, as a sign of deep gratitude, covered our path with fresh flowers on the streets of Moscow. Never forget this! "
After the war he continued to serve. Demobilized in 1948. Awarded with the Order of the Patriotic War of the II Degree, the Red Star, the medals Admiral Nakhimov, For the Defense of the Soviet Arctic, For the Victory over Germany and 15 more medals. Has three commendations from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Until 1986, Dmitry Egorovich completed a number of responsible creative and executive works of the departments of the Art Fund of the RSFSR as a monumental artist.
