Salamatin (according to other papers Solomatin, Salomatin) Fedor Petrovich was born on 13.10.1913. Before marrying my great-grandmother Bochkareva Evdokiya, he lived in the village of Blagodarny, Stavropol Territory. In 1935, he joined the Red Army in Blagodarsky Military Commissariat, (also known as Bogodarsky). After his marriage, he lived in Mineralnye Vody, Stavropol Territory. My grandmother was born in the marriage: Salamatina (after marriage: Levashova in the 1st marriage, Zhukova in a 2nd marriage) Larisa Fedorovna, born 09.02.1942.
On 23.06.1941 he was called up to the front by the Mineralovodsk Military Commissariat. According to information from the award list from 29.08.1941, he fought in the 175 Rifle Division (1st formation) of the 454th Separate Antiaircraft Artillery Division as a Commander of a Fire Platoon.
On 16.09.1941 he was injured and sent to the hospital. For the feat of September 16, 1941, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. But due to the entrapment of the 37th Army, he did not receive the award. According to information from the archive reference from 22.09.1941-06.08.1943 he used to live on the occupied territory in the Dnipropetrovsk Region. Upon his return, he returned to the ranks and was assigned to the 3rd Guards Army of the 279th Rifle Division. By order No. 0128 of 25.02.1944, he was enrolled as a student of the Courses on training Company commanders at the army Courses of Junior Lieutenants (according to information from the award list: on the Courses of Improvement of Officers ' Commanders).
By order of the 3rd Guards Army No. 0334 dated 23.06.1944, he was awarded the military rank of Lieutenant as a Platoon Commander of a Separate Antiaircraft Machine Gun Company of the 181st Rifle Division. He participated at the crossing of the Vistula river. From 07.09.1944 to 17.10.1944, he was held in captivity (source of information from the Central Reconnaissance Agency).
By order of the Commander of the 29th Separate Assault Rifle Battalion No. 16 dated 09.02.1945, comrade Salamatin, who arrived from the NKVD special camp No. 174, was enlisted as a Rifleman in the 29th Battalion. On 14.04.1945 he was excluded from the list of 29th Battalion, as a wounded and retired to the hospital.
For his courage and bravery in destroying German troops on the Zemland Peninsula (Kaliningrad Peninsula), he was awarded the medal “For Courage”.
According to official data (from the information archival reference) the Commander of a Rifle Platoon 3 Guards Army Salamatin Fedor Petrovich excluded from the lists of the Armed Forces as missing in April 1945. According to unofficial data, he survived.
