He was born on October 14, 1909. When the war started, he was 31 years old. And already on July 20, 1941, he was called to defend the Motherland. He served on the southern front, in the 121st mortar Regiment, as a driver. There were battles for life and death. Commander-in-Chief Stalin ordered: "Not a step back!" My great-grandfather in his truck brought up mines and shells under the fire of Nazi artillery.
One day his truck was hit by a shell. Grandpa was wounded in the right thigh by a shell fragment. This battle took place near the city of Melitopol. The grandfather was in the hospital to recover from his injury. In 1942 he was awarded the Medal For Courage.
After his recovery, as a courageous and staunch soldier, he was sent to serve in the 573rd Cannon - Artillery Regiment of the 2nd Baltic Front. From 1943 until the Victory over the Nazi troops, he was always in firing positions because he brought shells to the artillery cannons. My great-grandfather took part in the battles for the liberation of Leningrad, for which he was awarded the second medal "For Courage".
My great-grandfather was a brave and courageous soldier. Our family keeps: a diploma from the Commander-in-Chief Marshal of the USSR Stalin“For a breakthrough in the defense of North. M. Dvina "in 1944, " For the liberation of the town of Rezkne "in 1944, " For the liberation of the city of Riga ", a letter of commendation from Marshal Sov. Union of Govorov.
My great-grandfather had been fighting until the Victory Day. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the II degree. In May 1945, the whole country celebrated the Victory. As the most reliable defenders of the Fatherland, my great-grandfather, Mirgaziz Sultanovich and his colleagues are admitted to the party. In his party book it is written: "For honest service to the Fatherland, for courage and staunchness in the struggle, he was accepted into the ranks of the CPSU (b)" in 1943.
Great-grandfather celebrated the Victory, but he has not yet returned home, he and other soldiers are sent to the Far East to end the war. Sultanov Mirgaziz Sultanovich returned home by the end of November 1945 with the medal "For Victory over Germany". This is how my great-grandfather defended the Fatherland.
After the war, Sultanov Mirgaziz worked as a driver at the Vakhitovo sovkhoz. For honest and conscientious work, he was awarded with diplomas of the district committee. He was awarded the title "Drummer of Communist Labor" in 1964 and many other awards. Together with my great-grandmother Shakira, they raised 6 children, one of them is my grandmother. My great-grandfather died in July 1992. It's a shame that I didn't know him personally.
I am proud that he was an ordinary soldier who heroically defended his homeland! If I had known him, he would have told me about the war. Thanks to the granfather for the victory! For every house that defended! For a clear sky, for faith, For the fact that we are now living!
