My grandfather, Alexey Iosifovich Klykov, went through the entire war from June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945. After graduating from high school in 1939, he was called up for military service in the Soviet Army. He served in the 272nd separate communications battalion of the city of Molotov. And from November 1940, he was sent to work in the NKVD. At the beginning of the War, my great-grandfather served in Chelyabinsk in the 172nd rifle division of the Ural military district. From the autobiography of A. I. Klykov: "on the fronts of the great Patriotic War, he took part from June 22, 1941 to May 9, 1945. From August 1941 to February 1942, he was the head of the special Department of the NKVD of the partisan detachment of major Marsov." My grandfather participated in the partisan movement on the territory of the Belarusian SSR and the Kalinin region of the RSFSR. In the period from March 1942 to September 1943, my grandfather served as a senior operative in the 673rd rifle regiment of the 220th rifle division of the 31st army. On the Internet on the site "Fighting the red army in the second world war" we found data that the 31st army as part of the Western front participated in the Rzhev-Sychevskaya offensive operation (July 30-August 23), in the Smolensk strategic operation (August 7-October 1, 1943). Formations of the 31st army in cooperation with other front troops broke through a number of enemy defensive lines, defeated its main group, liberated the cities of Yartsevo, Smolensk and reached the right Bank of the Dnieper North-East of Orsha. From September 1943 to the end of the War, A. I. Klykov. he served as a senior operative of the counterintelligence Department of the SMERSH NGO of the 231st assault air division and the 279th red banner fighter air division of the 5th air army. I also learned from the Internet that the 5th air army made a great contribution to the defeat of enemy troops during the Belgorod-Kharkiv strategic offensive and the battle of the Dnieper. In 1944, the army took part in the Kirovograd, Korsun-Shevchenko, Iasi-Kishinev strategic offensive operations, and in 1945 – in operations to liberate Yugoslavia, Hungary, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Unfortunately, we have not found detailed information about which of these combat operations the military units in which my grandfather served took part. But in the record sheet there is a line in the "Awards" section: December 20, 1943, the Canines of A. I. the command of the 31st army was awarded the order of the red star "for exemplary performance of special tasks of command," and under "was abroad," he pointed out that from May 1944 to August 1945 the troops of Soviet army freed from the Nazis Romania, Hungary and Austria. My grandfather was awarded the second government award on May 5, 1945. From the Supreme Soviet of the USSR with the wording "for participation in the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union against Germany", he received the medal "for victory over Germany". He finished the War with the rank of captain in the guards. My grandfather was lucky, he was not injured, and returned to his native village of Cherdakly after the War. I never saw him, as he unfortunately died a year before I was born. Our family, like many families, carefully kept the documents and belongings of relatives who took part in the war, and now we have transferred them to the Museum of the school where my children study. I am proud of my grandfather, proud that he liberated my Homeland from the Nazis and helped bring Victory Day closer.
