Division: 52nd Infantry Division (1st Formation) My great-grandfather Nikolai Vasilievich Lobastov was born on May 28, 1922 in the village of Oshi, Orichevsky District, Kirov Region, into a family of peasants. After graduating from school, he graduated from combiner courses. When the war began, my great-grandfather was 19 years old. In September 1941, my great-grandfather was drafted into the ranks of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army (RKKA) and sent to study. He studied in Aktyubinsk in the educational unit as a scout. After finishing "training" he was sent to the front. He fought on the Ukrainian front as part of the 52nd Infantry Division. Great-grandfather with his comrades went on missions behind enemy lines, they took prisoners - they were also called "tongues". The captured Germans talked about the location of military equipment and the number of soldiers, about German plans. This information helped the Soviet army in planning military operations and in achieving victories. On June 23, 1943, during a night search in the area of Belgorod, a German soldier was taken prisoner by the great-grandfather, while returning from the mission, the great-grandfather was wounded, but despite the injury he was able to deliver the prisoner. He was treated in an evacuation hospital 3922. After recovery, he was declared unfit for military service and sent to the rear. In those difficult years, there were not enough men in the rear, everyone went to the front. Therefore, after returning from the front, my great-grandfather was appointed chairman of the collective farm, after the enlargement of the collective farm, he returned to work in the field as a combine operator. Great-grandfather was repeatedly awarded, including the Order of the Red Star, the Order of Glory III degree and the Order of the Patriotic War I degree.
