In 1930, on a Komsomol ticket, he left to build Magnitogorsk. While working as a fitter, he studied at the workers' faculty at the same time, then at the newly opened Magnitogorsk music school at the choirmaster department, but managed to complete only three courses. He was drafted into the army by the Magnitogorsk military registration and enlistment office and sent to study at the Smolensk artillery school, evacuated to Chebarkul (Chelyabinsk region), where he trained as a Red Army cadet from 02.1942 to 01.1943. After graduation and until Victory Day, he was in the active army, promoted to the rank of senior lieutenant on October 22, 1943, in which he was transferred to the reserve after the war. From 01.1943 to 01.1945 served as commander of a control platoon, then deputy. battery commander, from 01.1945 to 04.1946 - battery commander. At the front, in 1944 he joined the Communist Party. During the Great Patriotic War he fought in the North-West, then on the Central, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts. He took part in major battles. At the end of the war he served in the 652nd artillery regiment. He celebrated Victory Day in the city of Graz (Austria). He was wounded three times. After the war from 04.1946 to 08.1950 served in the political staff in Western Ukraine, was an instructor of cultural work, then, from 08.1950 to 05.1954. - the head of the club. Transferred to the reserve from military base No. 3.109 with the rank of senior lieutenant and demobilized to Moscow. After the war, being a choirmaster by profession, he mastered the profession of a piano tuner and worked in the Experimental Music Workshop of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR as both a foreman and a head of the workshop. He was one of the three best masters of the USSR.
