HISTORY: Petr Fedotovich Minaev was born on January 27, 1920 in the Bryansk Region, Trubchevsky District, in the village of Yurovo. He graduated from the 7th grade of the Yurov School in 1937. He was excellent student. He entered a Medical College in Bryansk and graduated with excellent and good grades in 1940. In the period from 1940 to 1941, he worked as a Feldsher in the vicinity of the village and the village Radotina Blight. n the first months of the war, our grandfather was sent to study in the Urals at the Artillery School. While he was a cadet from 8.09.1941 to 9.09.1942, the war had reached Stalingrad. The School was closed. My grandfather was sent to the Stalingrad Front (1942-1943) as a front-line medic. _x000D_ He remembered the city of Stalingrad as the battered Volga banks, the water boiling from the explosion of shells, and the city in flames of conflagrations. The Volga, where the water is mixed with blood, was boiling from the explosion of shells. To cross the river, one had to push corpses away, so many soldiers were killed. In 1943 he was a feldsher of the Division of the Rifle Battalion on the Voronezh, then he was a feldsher of Medical Company at the Steppe front, later 2nd Ukrainian Front. _x000D_ From September 1943 to May 1945 he had been a Head of Medical Company Pharmacy. He participated in the liberation of Prague and celebrated Victory there on May 9, 1945. But the fighting continued in Prague even after May 9, 1945. _x000D_ In October 1946, he joined the Communist party of the Soviet Union with a pride and honor of that time. _x000D_ On November 22, 1946, our grandfather married Miria Stepanovna Grinkova and went with his wife, Minaeva Maria Stepanovna, to Cahul, Moldova, where he had been working as the Head of Medical Company Pharmacy until 1948. _x000D_ My grandfather had 14 state awards: 1) Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree as of March 11, 1985 2) Order of the Red Star, as of 1944 3) Medal "For Military Merit" 4) Medal "For Defense of Stalingrad" 5) Medal "For Liberation of Prague" 6) Medal "For Victory over Germany", 7) Medal “20 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War 8) Medal “30 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War” 9) Medal “40 years of victory in in the Great Patriotic War” 10) Medal “30 years Soviet Army and Navy” 11) Medal “50 years of the Armed Forces of USSR” 12) Medal “60 years of the Armed Forces USSR” 13) Medal "Veteran of Labor" as of 22 July, 1982 14) Pioneer of Excellent Health of the USSR as of 18 April 1961, 7 commendatory certificates, 6 anniversary awards. My grandfather's military rank is Senior Lieutenant of the Medical Service. _x000D_ On September 22, 1948, our grandfather was demobilized and placed in the reserve. Upon returning home our family arrived in the village of Yurovo. Peaceful postwar life started. During 1948-1974 he had been working as Feldsher of the Yurov Medical Center (Bryansk Region, Trubchevsky District). Working as a feldsher, he was an eye doctor, a children's doctor, a General practitioner, a gynecologist, and a surgeon, who applied 12 stitches each, working alone with a patient, when there was no other doctor to submit the necessary sutures. _x000D_ For his impeccable and fruitful work, our grandfather was an excellent student of the USSR Health Service, a Veteran of Labor, and a Feldsher of the 1st category. The motto of our grandfather's life: the life and health of a person is the meaning of my life and happiness. In the foreground there was always a struggle for human health and life. _x000D_ He was retired in Bryansk on February 1, 1980. In 1983, from August 20 to 24, grandparents were in Kharkov at a meeting of veterans-fellow soldiers of the 93rd Guards Kharkov, Twice Red Banner Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Rifle Division ( 40 years of liberation of Kharkov from the Nazi invaders 1943-1983), where they remembered the Kursk Bulge. Pyotr Minaev was a wonderful man, son, husband, father, and a grandfather. Our dear man passed away on December 13, 1992.
