BACKGROUND: Title: Captain. Troops: Armored and mechanized troops. Division: 2nd Guards Motorized Rifle Division. From 1937, Zhylkyshiev Abzhappar, before being drafted to the front after graduating from school and the Talgar (Alma-Ata region) Agricultural College, worked as a Russian language teacher and then deputy director at the aul Akyrtobe school in Jambul region. In June 1942, being drafted for the war, he was immediately sent to the Tashkent Military Infantry School. However, he did not finish the school because he was sent to Iran together with a group of distinguished cadets. In 1943, after returning from Iran, he was sent to Ashgabat Military Infantry School to continue his studies. In the same year, at his urgent request, he was sent to the army of the Steppe Front as an ordinary Red Army soldier. While forcing the Dnieper, he was seriously injured in his right leg. He was treated in the hospital in Lunina village of Penza region. After the hospital, he graduated with honors from Ivanovo Military and Political School. Then he was sent to the 143rd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Belorussian Front as deputy battalion in the political part. The battalion commander was Major Krizhanovsky. Their battalion took part in forcing Oder, in taking Berlin (Zeelovskie vorota, Spandau). After the end of the war, he was sent to serve in Ukraine in the city of Izyum, Kharkov region. He was demobilized from the army in March 1947. During the war, he was awarded the Order of Patriotic War, 1st degree, medals. After demobilization from the army, he worked in party-soviet bodies of Dzhambul and South-Kazakhstan regions, graduated from the Higher Party School with honors. He was awarded orders of the Labor Red Banner, Badge of Honor, medals and certificates of honor. While working in party and Soviet bodies, he began to write stories and novellas. Since 1979, he was a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.
