Ageev Leonid Timofeevich

Ageev Leonid Timofeevich was born on August 16, 1921 in the village of Petrovenki (Ukrainian SSR, Lugansk region, Kryndychevsky district) in the family of an engineer-inventor. At the age of 18 he was drafted by the Tagansky Military Commissariat of Moscow into the ranks of the Soviet Army, and from 1940 to 1972 he was an officer in the Soviet Army. He graduated from the Vasilkovsky Aviation Technical School, as well as the Orsk Machine-Building Technical School. Member of the Great Patriotic War. He fought on the Kalinin and Voronezh fronts. On August 5, 1943, he received a severe shrapnel wound in the back during the Kursk-Belgorod operation. On August 18, 1943, the turning point came when it became clear that he would live. He called this day his second birthday. The order book was issued on June 17, 1948. He was awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War, II degree, the Order of the Red Star, two medals for Military Merit and 15 medals and insignia received during military service in peacetime. In 1947 he got married. He has two daughters. In 1972, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he retired from the ranks of the Soviet army, thus serving for 33 years. In the same year he came to the city of Pushkino, Moscow Region. From 1975 to 1992, he worked as Lead Flight Test Engineer in the Flight Service Directorate of the Ministry of Aviation Industry. Over the years, he has carried out a lot of work on engineering and aviation support for test flights of experimental aviation. He also took exams for test pilots. In 1994, having given 53 years of aviation, he headed the Pushkin Council of Veterans. Under him, the work of the council was noticeably revitalized. The first memorial in Pushkino, erected in memory of the inhabitants of the Pushkin District who died in battle, was erected under his direct leadership and with his active participation.
