Subdivision: 245th Valginsko-Rezhitskaya Rifle Red Banner Division. Born on June 2, 1925 in the village of Krasny Kholm (now the Zubtsovsky district of the Tver region) in a peasant family. Russian. Primary education. He worked on a collective farm. When the front approached his home in the fall of 1941, the collective farm board entrusted Alexei, along with other drovers, to evacuate the public herd. The herdsmen took the herd away, led a nomadic life. After the bombing and shelling, they collected the scared cows and moved on. And then - a restless life in the evacuation, concern for the preservation of the public herd. In February 1942, the village of Krasny Kholm was liberated from the German invaders, and at the beginning of summer Aleksey, together with his herd, returned to his native collective farm. Together with women and old people he restored the economy. On April 10, 1943, when he was not yet eighteen, he was drafted as a volunteer for active military service by the Pogorelsky District Military Commissariat of the Kalinin Region. In a training regiment in the Ivanovo region, he received the specialty of a mortarman. In the summer of 1943 he was in the army. He fought on the Kalinin, 1st Baltic and 1st Ukrainian fronts. He fought in the battles for Pskov and Riga. In February 1944 he was wounded and spent several months in a hospital in Leningrad. Returning to the front, he fought in the 898th Infantry Regiment of the 245th Infantry Division. In June 1944, he was awarded the Medal For Courage. Particularly distinguished himself during the liberation of Poland and the crossing of the Dnieper River. In January 1945, the 59th Army, introduced into the battle on the Nida River, launched an offensive in the direction of Krakow - Soskovets - Kozel. Its advanced units reached Oder by January 30, 1945. Forcing began. When the platoon commander, where A.I. Andreshov served, went out of order, he took over the command. Junior Sergeant, shouting "Follow me!" - led the fighters to overcome the water barrier. The platoon crossed over and went out to the flank of the defending Germans. AI Andreshov knew from experience that it was impossible to hesitate, and gave the command: "For the Motherland, forward!" He ran in front, and the comrades followed his example. Having occupied the enemy's trenches, the platoon ensured the crossing of the entire battalion. The bridgehead was conquered. Fighting broke out for the city of Kozel, now Kendzezhin-Kozle in Poland. Here, during the assault on one of the outskirts, junior sergeant Alexei Ivanovich Andreshov, who commanded a platoon, heroically fell in the attack. He was buried at the site of the last battle in the city of Kendzezhin-Kozle. Later he was reburied at the Kutuzov Memorial - a military cemetery in the village of Bolevlavice, near the town of Boleslavets, next to the remains of Field Marshal Kutuzov. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 10, 1945, Junior Sergeant Alexei Ivanovich Andreshov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the courage and heroism shown during the crossing of the Oder and holding the bridgehead on its western bank.
