Staronya Pskov region DATE OF BIRTH: 01.01.1913 DATE OF DEATH: 01.04.1944 HISTORY: Type of troops: Armored and mechanized troops .My great-grandfather Andreev Ivan Klimentievich, born in 1913, a native of the village of Staronya, Karamyshevsky district of the Pskov region, until 1941 was just husband and father of four girls, one of whom was my grandmother Romanova (Andreeva) Nina Ivanovna. In the first days of the 1941 war, Ivan Klimentyevich was called upon to defend his homeland, he was sent to the Leningrad front. He served as a tanker, defended the approaches to Leningrad. In 1943, Ivan Klimentievich went to his sister and asked to give his photograph (which we have preserved) to his wife and children. "We went into battle" were his last words. After that, there was no news from him. Already in 1946, great-grandmother Marusa received a notice: "Your husband, Private Andreev Ivan Klimentyevich, born in 1913, a native of the village of Staronya, Karamyshevsky district of the Pskov region, while at the front of the fight against the German invaders, disappeared in April 1944". Great-grandfather was from a large family. Their family had 7 children (4 brothers and 3 sisters) - Alexey, Vasily, Ivan, Eugene, Pelageya, Galina and the younger Petya. His father Andreev Klimenty Andreevich lived in Leningrad with his youngest son, where they lived during the blockade. Peter died during the war and is buried in Leningrad. Then their father also died, and it is not known where he was buried (it was not found in all documents). Only one of the brothers, Vasily, returned from the war, without a leg, but alive, but he did not live long. The war brought so much pain, bitterness and death to every family of our vast Motherland, but we have always remained and must remain a united people. Even in those difficult years, people were united by a single impulse against a common enemy. When, without any call, not only men, but also old people, children and women took up arms. When any woman knew that she was fighting for a calm motherhood, the well-being of children, for peace for a new person.
